Nose Surgery Procedure

Question: What is the name of the book that teaches the nail in the nose stunt where you
hammer a nail into your nose.
Answer: The line from "Learned Pigs and Fireproof Women" springs to mind:
"The only secret is the nerve to try it". But since the back of the
nose leads straight to the brain - ISTR that was the route Ancient
Egyptian mummifers used to get the brains out - it's not a thing I'd
care to risk. Get an infected scratch back there, such as from a
snotty old nail, and you're asking for meningitis.
I found this trick in a very, very old book on magic, carnival acts,
etc. Believe it or not this is not a trick, its for real. I won't
discuss the method here because too any kids read these posts. A small
surgical procedure is involved.
