Question: I finished waxing the old stang today (5 coats of Zaino, oh yeah!), and ye
olde neighbor comes swaggering by to ogle...(pictures coming soon
hopefully...of the car...not the neighbor...)
Standard greetings are exchange, and compliments on the wax job are
affirmed, along with a large amount of praise to the fine gentleman who
painted my vehicle (i didn't show him the trunk where the paint's already
chipping off on the edges, but that's another story)
So from his mouth pops this question, "My daughter needs her car detailed
and waxed...something that will last all summer (I assume he meant the wax
here)...how much would you charge to do it?"
I began to open my mouth to reassure myself that the time and dedication put
forth into detailing a fine automobile like mine is something that I would
only give to myself...but then the wheels started turning and I began to
review the following facts:
1. I'm dead broke. 2. I could use money. 3. I like waxing cars. 4. This guy's daughter is really hot. (pictures coming soon...of the
neighbor, not the car)
My mouth then shut and I informed said neighbor I would contact him shortly
and let him know if I could do it.
So onto my question(s):
1. A high quality detailing job of a vehicle would cost exactly how much, on
average (I do the whole deal here, Q-tips and everything)?
2.How much should I charge?
3.If I do it, should I do the job with my shirt off?
Answer: I was going to suggest doing it for $75 for a wash n wax and $100 if they
wanted the inside detailed as well. Putting on 5 coats of wax will be time
consuming so if there are no clouds in the sky, I'd either leave the shirt
on or have the wife/girlfriend get you sunblocked up. Oh wait, you said the
daughter is hot so that must mean no wife/girlfriend. Knock $10 off if she
will apply the sunblock!!
